The climatic health resort of Berchtesgaden is located in the beautiful Bavarian Alps and is known worldwide because of the Watzmann and the Lake Königssee. Because of the extensive sporting activities in and around Berchtesgaden, there is something even for our younger guests. In summer, Berchtesgaden is an ideal destination for hikers, mountaineers, climbers, mountain bikers and paragliders. From the Eagle's Nest you have an overwhelming panoramic view over the Berchtesgaden area and neighbouring Austria.

The salt mine in Berchtesgaden is worth another trip, waiting to be discovered by you with its hidden world of salt deep inside the mountain.

The Eagles Nest, with its meter thick foundations, opens up a grandiose view over the Berchtegadener Land. A tunnel takes you 124m or 406ft into the mountain to a magnificent Brass elevator. In just 41 seconds the lift will take you up another 406ft into the house itself.

Nationalpark Berchtesgaden

The only alpine Nationalpark in Germany is in Berchtesgaden. Nature preservation, research and environmental education are practised here. The landscape is shaped by deep valleys, like at the Königssee and large Massives around the Watzmann.

The Mythical Watzmann is the central Massive in the Berchtesgaden Alps, that lies in the South Eastern part of Bavaria in the Berchtesgaden National Park. Its culmination point is the middle peak which stands at 2713m / 8901ft making it the highest point of the Berchtesgaden Region.
